Election Day by Norman Rockwell

Is anyone else scared of the post-election world?  I’m not talking about if your candidate loses. I’m talking about fearing what will result when half the US is angry and shocked at the results.

Where do we go from here? And how did we get here in the first place?

We essentially have two groups of people who can’t believe how the other one can vote for the “greater of two evils” running. Because we, of course, believe we’re all voting for the “lesser,” right? You’re either labeled a racist and homophobe or a pedophile and anti-American.

This is no longer like elections decades ago, in which we can all respect each other’s choices even if we don’t agree with them. Remember those days? When you disagreed and argued, but you didn’t bark through Ring video to tell your neighbor what a disgrace they are because of the sign in their yard.

How did we go from that to where we are today?

I think it’s evident to many of us.
