When a topic comes up over and over again in a short span of time, I pay attention. 

I watched an Instagram video that said getting up every 45 minutes from sitting to do ten squats will improve blood sugar regulation better than a 30-minute walk. 

When I read that, my first thought was, every 45 minutes? Isn’t that a little extreme? I mean, that’s barely sitting down before I have to get up again? I thought I’d try, but let’s be honest, it won’t happen that often. 

Within a few days, I finally got to the chapter in the book I'm reading, Built to Move, on standing. It it, the authors shared that we should work up to sitting less than 6 hours a day. 

My initial reaction? I thought of this meme, but make it about getting up so much.

What is happening to the world? Not all of us are on cocaine! It is such an extreme phrase, but it is how I kinda felt. Sitting is normal, and all these health nuts are crazy!
