We’re starting a series on margin and making space in our lives, finances, time, etc. for what really matters. Here’s our first installment.
Deciding to close your business with no solid plan can be scary. As I felt the Lord lead me to such a decision, I inevitably started thinking about the financial ramifications of such a decision and pondering the question often asked by rarely answered:
How much is enough?
I say it’s often asked but rarely answered because we know it’s worthwhile to consider, so we do ask it. We just struggle to nail down a concrete and across-the-board answer. Heck, I’d even take a table with “if you’re in this income bracket, this is your ‘enough’”. Alas, I haven’t found it.
But the reason why is pretty simple: I think we need to keep going to God with each decision. If we’re abiding with Him and walking in step with Him, we’ll experience moment-by-moment guidance needed to answer this question.
I do want to spend some time considering some thoughts, though or else this would be a very short and disappointing glance at a very important question. I also want to share the dust that kicks up from such a question and end with several questions to ask the Lord in prayer that I think are unexpected and true gold when it comes to determining what is enough.
So, let’s dive in.
