Love your list! I have not read any of them so I cannot comment on that but I appreciate your list for Pastor’s wives as my husband is considering ministry and I am trying to wrap my head around what that looks like for me.
I just started Fast Like a Girl. She is 100% talking about me. I hope this is the thing I need. I’m 51 and have been calorie restricting for 3 months, doing Lindywell 5x/week for 5 months (I can feel the difference this makes for me), we also eat mostly whole foods, restricting sugars and whole grains unless they are non-gmo and organic-the residual glyphosate on grains causes me a lot of GI discomfort and gave me massive fatigue that took me a year to dig out of.
You have several books on your list that I want to read. It’s an inspiring list.
Sarah Mackenzie, the author of Teaching from rest, is an amazing resource! Her Read Aloud Revival website is fantastic and my children and I have really enjoyed and benefitted from her premium membership.
I read Fast Like a Girl last year. In fact, my oncologist recommended it. It was a pretty quick read and informative, but I don’t recall any information that I hadn’t read about fasting before. If you’re new to fasting it would be a good read.
Zeal without Burnout was one of my favorites this year. It’s a short read — I finished it in a day! — and very accessible. I also read The Emotionally Healthy Leader after that, which I would also recommend! I’m reading Every Home a Foundation now and would 1000% recommend it!!! I already think it will be one of my top favorites for the year. It’s less about specific applications (though there are some!) and more about a heart and mindset shift towards work in the home, which I appreciate!!
Gospel Mom is on my list for this year and I also have the workbook to go along with it. This year I’m trying to read a lot of the books I already have waiting to be read, as I’m going to be studying full time and won’t have as much ability to read a lot extra this year. 😉 Always love your lists Val for inspiration! 😊
LOVE Sharon Jaynes, and her book Power of a Woman’s Words is one I recommend often! I listened on audible and took many notes. She hits all relationships. I have enjoyed many of her books. Just bought Momma Moments with God devotional for a new mom. Looked beautiful.
Jen Wilkin studies- I’m starting Abide as well as one of her courses. Can’t go wrong there. Just heard about Gospel Mom on a podcast the other day.
I’m looking forward to adding some of these books to my growing list.
Wow! What an amazing list. Thank you for taking the time to share this. Not going to lie it gave me a little anxiety to map out my reads for 2025, but was just the nudge I needed to make sure I read more intentionally this year. Praying over you and your words in the year to come.

Oh I hope it helps you too Teresa! I love Lindywell too!

Teaching from rest is one of my favorite homeschool books! It’s a very quick read and so encouraging.
Delighting in Jesus is AMAZING. And it has neuroplastic principles which I’m excited to implement into my rewiring routine!

Teaching from Rest is what I hand to all homeschooling moms. It’s worth re-reading too.
I got engaged in December and am getting married December 2025, so I am excited to read the Deep-Rooted Marriage!

As a pastors wife, I’d highly recommend Gloria Furman’s book! Have read Jani’s too and it was good, but Gloria’s definitely!
