Your words remind me of something my counselor said years ago, about not suppressing passing thoughts but acknowledging them. Lately, I've been ignoring those nagging thoughts during study or prayer, but I appreciate this challenge, Val. To not push aside but rather to take it all - big and small - to our Father because He cares.
And a resource I have been enjoying is a study called Behold and Believe by Courtney Doctor & Joanna Kimbrel. The study breaks down the seven "I Am" statements of Jesus. It's been comforting and encouraging to really delve in and reflect on what Jesus says of Himself and of us.
I'm so glad you shared that study Kathryn! I have seen it but hearing more about it, I'm putting in on my list of Biblestudies to try soon! Thank you! So glad you are here! :)
What you wrote is why I journal my prayers because it is the only time I can truly focus on God's word, analyze it, pray it back to Him, and pray for whatever else is on my mind. When I write out my prayers, I hear my thoughts clearly and I don't get distracted by anything or anyone else. It's just me and the page. Nothing else matters. It's also when I am my truest self.
